The cat chart
International Cat Care counts the first two years of a cat’s life as 24 human years, then 4 human years for each year after that. A 10-year-old cat is like a 56-year-old person; a 15-year-old, like a 76-year-old.
The life stages
Kitten (up to 6 months), junior (7 months to 2 years), adult (3–6), mature (7–10), senior (11–14), super senior (15 and up). The AVMA considers cats seniors after 10: from then on, a vet checkup at least twice a year.
